Fiery Ember

The Fiery Ember is not for the faint of heart. It’s a cocktail that packs a punch with each sip—starting with a spicy burn in your throat and finishing with a sweet, lingering aftertaste. Infused with the earthy, peppery essence of ginger and jalapeño, and balanced by the richness of honey and the warmth of bourbon, this drink is a symphony of strong flavors. If you love bold, intense cocktails with a unique twist, the Fiery Ember is your go-to.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz bourbon

  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice

  • 0.75 oz honey syrup (1 part honey, 1 part warm water)

  • 1 fresh jalapeño slice (seeds removed if you prefer less spice)

  • 1 small ginger slice (about the size of a quarter)

  • 1 dash of Angostura bitters

  • Ice cubes

  • Lime wheel or ginger candy for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Muddle the jalapeño slice and ginger in a cocktail shaker to release their flavors.

  2. Add the bourbon, lime juice, honey syrup, and a dash of Angostura bitters.

  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.

  4. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.

  5. Garnish with a lime wheel or a piece of ginger candy for an extra aromatic touch.

Pro tips: For an extra kick, leave some jalapeño seeds when muddling, or use a spicier pepper like a serrano. If you prefer a smoky edge, you can try substituting the bourbon with mezcal to complement the earthy, pungent flavors.
